Son, “Mom” Will Back You

Chapter 59

"… …"

Zong Shizi, sitting on the couch in the corner with her hands rested on her knees, was called out all of a sudden. She only had the time to quickly looked away from the clear and tall man.

Standing up, she said apologetically with her hands holding onto each other and her head lower, "I\'m sorry, Screenwriter Gu. It\'s my personal reason. I cannot accept the intimacy of the scene."

Gu Nian was taken aback a little.

This little older sister was somewhat cute… No, wait! Even if she was cute, she couldn\'t bully her precious son. She had just doubled the malicious rumors about him within the production team!

Gu Nian made up her mind and her look expressionless, said, "Miss Zong, if you consider accidentally falling onto someone\'s lap as unacceptable \'intimacy\', then your level of professionalism and respect for the entire film industry is shockingly low."

"I\'m sorry… …"

Zong Shizi did not say anything else. She bit her lips and had a look of being treated unfairly but she was not backing down.

Gu Nian wasn\'t surprised. Turning to Geng Hongyu, she said, "Director Geng, you are a highly talked-about director in the field. Are you okay with your actors insisting on changing the script basing on their own casual personal desires?"

With the compliment in the speech, what could he say to that?

This was the first time Geng Hongyu had been complimented so much that he felt stuck between a rock and a hard place. He cleared his throat a couple of times before he said, "Naturally, I don\'t encourage such behavior but, when an actress has a specific request, me denying her without taking her feelings into account will also affect the filming progress – as such, I have asked Luo Xiu to come over so we can get his opinion on this."

Gu Nian looked at him expressionlessly.

That was not what you have just said.

Naturally, she would not call Geng Hongyu out at this point. She merely said firmly, "Before we solicit Mr. Luo Xiu\'s opinion – as the screenwriter of this script, in consideration of the completeness of the story arc and the character, I strongly disagree major deletion at this point."

"Gu Nian."

Assistant Director Lin finally couldn\'t help but gave her a reminder.

Gu Nian did not turn around but looked at the frowning Geng Hongyu seriously. "Prior to right now, I had voluntarily edited the screenwriter and added scenes and character without asking for any compensation. Now that we have finalized the script and had gone through all levels of review and you wanted to delete a scene that had been planned for tonight and based on an unreasonable personal request no less – this is something that I cannot accept nor will I back down on it."

Geng Hongyu\'s face finally dropped. "Gu Nian, I strongly advise you to consider your status before you talk. You are certainly a young talent but do you understand the concept that being too overly arrogant just might backfire on you?"

"Of course, I understand that very well."

The girl standing in the middle broke out into a smile all of a sudden. Her languidness gone and she was pretty, glamourous, but also with fierceness hidden behind them.

"Not only do I understand that concept, I have also experienced it firsthand. As such, I have considered all possible outcome – before I am standing in front of your solemnly right now."

Geng Hongyu\'s face was dark. "What do you mean by that?"

Gu Nian reined in her smile and gave him a serious look. "There are wiggle room regarding the rights to the creation and editing of this script – I can afford to drag this out but, with your massive production team and all of the workers, you are burning capital with each passing day. Can you afford that?"

BANG! Geng Hongyu slammed on the table. "Are you threatening me?!"

"I have your best interest in mind."

"You are trying to force me into not altering the script!!"

"This is my bottom line."

"So you are okay with anything else besides that."

"As long as you don\'t alter the script, I will work with you on every other… …"

Gu Nian stopped herself all of a sudden.

She had a sinking feeling that very second that she had fallen into some sort of a trap. Unfortunately, words always left her mouth faster than it could go through her brain.

"Okay! Those were your words!"

"… …?"

Gu Nian looked up and Geng Hongyu no longer look angry at all.

"Lao Lin certainly knows you very well." Geng Hongyu smiled for a change. "We don\'t want to give you a hard time and we have a best-of-both-world solution."

Gu Nian had a bad feeling. She asked cautiously, "What\'s your solution?"

Geng Hongyu, "We noticed last night when you were fixing Luo Xiu\'s appearance that you look a lot like Zong Shizi from behind."

Gu Nian froze. "What are you getting at?"

"… …"

Luo Xiu, his eyes lowered half way, the emotions in his eyes began to quiver.

Geng Hongyu made arrangements nonchalantly. "What I am getting is that, since she refused to film the scene, you can do it in her place."

Gu Nian, "… … … …"

Gu Nian, "? ? ?"
