Flashy Adventurer System : Show Off to Get Stronger!

Chapter 93: Maia Crowley vs Alicia Felton

"Big brother! You said that my next opponent was strong! Why didn\'t he even last ten seconds against me?!"

Maia asked with dissatisfaction written all over her face.

On the other hand, Shye didn\'t know whether to laugh or cry because he didn\'t expect that his little sister would beat the crap out of the 14th-ranked examinee in less than ten seconds so he didn\'t know what to say to her this time.

"W-Well, h-he should\'ve been strong… I guess he wasn\'t huh? Just keep on fighting and eventually, you\'ll run into some really strong guys"

Shye said with a slightly embarrassed and awkward look, he couldn\'t help but blame Razzie in his mind.

"Isn\'t this 14th-ranked examinee too weak?!" Shye inwardly complained.

Meanwhile, Maia was slowly losing hope, if she knew that it would be like this then she wouldn\'t have gotten her hopes up in the first place.

Shye couldn\'t stand seeing her so disappointed so he thought of something to cheer her up.

"Maia, how about we go watch the matches of the high-ranked seeded examinees?"

After hearing her big brother\'s suggestion, Maia\'s eyes lit up again.

Indeed, why didn\'t she go look at the strongest seeded examinees to see how strong they were?

"Oooh! Yes! Let\'s go watch!"

Maia enthusiastically followed her big brother as they walked towards sparring grounds number seven where an ongoing match between the second-ranked Alicia Felton and sixth-ranked Geoffrey Gar was getting heated.

"That girl looks strong! I want to fight her!"

Maia said as she excitedly pointed her finger towards Alicia who was winning the fight.

Finally, after a few more minutes, Geoffrey couldn\'t keep up with Alicia and was knocked out by a swift blow to his neck.

"Enough! Alicia Felton wins and moves on to the quarterfinals!"

After her win, Alicia noticed someone pointing a finger at her and she was annoyed.

However, upon seeing who it was, she smirked, walked closer to the person and said:

"Oh? Maia Crowley, the sister of the legendary Shye Crowley, I presume?"

Alicia said with an annoying smirk on her face.

On the other hand, Maia was confused after looking at Alicia. She didn\'t know how this seeded examinee knew her name.

Unbeknownst to her, she was getting quite famous now after her successive easy victories in addition to the fact that she was Shye\'s younger sister.

All she cared about was fighting strong opponents so she was oblivious to everything that was happening around her.

"Yes, I\'m Maia, nice to meet you! What\'s your name?"

Alicia\'s face twitched after hearing what Maia said, she thought that Maia was mocking her by telling her "Who the hell are you?" even though Maia perfectly knew who she was.

Unbeknownst to her, Maia\'s introduction was simply as sincere as it sounded, and she truly didn\'t know her.

She even wanted to be friends with Alicia but unfortunately, Alicia misunderstood her intentions and thought that Maia was being arrogant simply because she was Shye\'s younger sister.

Thus, Alicia scoffed at her reply and glared at her.

"Hmmph! Quite the sharp tongue I see, your big brother won\'t be able to help you inside the sparring grounds so you better watch out"

Alicia said before turning around to leave with clenched fists and a furious face.

Meanwhile, Maia was utterly confused, she didn\'t know why Alicia was so angry at her when all she did was introduce herself.

Shye chuckled after seeing the confused expression on his little sister\'s face. However, he decided to not intervene to let Maia experience the world for herself.

Finally, Maia\'s name was called again for her fifth-round quarterfinal match which she easily won again but this time, her opponent was able to last around 20 seconds so she was quite pleased compared to her previous matches.

However, it still wasn\'t enough for her, she longed for a match where her opponent could force her to at least use her skills. In her eyes, her past opponents were no fun and she would have rather sparred against her big brother if possible.

Fortunately, all the matches finished quickly since there were only a few examinees left and soon, it was finally time for her semifinal match against Alicia.

Maia and Alicia stood face-to-face in the middle of sparring ground number one, all eyes on them.

The outsiders, some ordinary professional adventurers, the other examinees, students from Colzen Academy, and the examiners all tuned in to this semifinal match between two well-known examinees.

Even the scout course dean, Gaston Shadowvale, heard about how Maia destroyed every opponent she faced including the seeded examinees so he couldn\'t help but leave his office and go to the entrance exam\'s venue to secretly watch Maia\'s match against Alicia.

In the eyes of the examiners and the dean, this would be Maia\'s first real test because Alicia Felton\'s parents were both emerald-ranked adventurers and they were fairly famous in Colzen City.

This was also the first time he ever heard about Shye having a little sister so this was a big piece of news for him especially since she was a scout course examinee.

If she was as talented as her big brother then Colzen Academy would have another golden era just two years after Shye graduated.

"Begin!"

Finally, the long-awaited match began.

Alicia didn\'t even bother about probing Maia and directly used one of the most common scout skills, [Blink Strike Lv.1] to suddenly appear behind Maia.

Unfortunately for her, such tricks were too common and weren\'t enough to even make Maia step back.

*CLANG*

Two daggers clashed but one person was evidently stronger than the other.

Alicia was sent sliding back after a single clash against Maia and it seems that Maia had the edge when it came to raw strength.

However, Alicia wasn\'t worried, she still had a few aces up her sleeves and she didn\'t believe that Maia would have skills to counter hers so she decisively charged at her again to continue attacking.
