Chapter 262: Training Of The Mage Who Speaks No Gibberish (1)

After purchasing a shitload of mana potions and spell mastery tonics for a total of 15,000 silver coins, Shye was now ready to grind the level of his skills for an entire week.

\'Hmm…should I rent a training facility?\' Shye pondered. He might attract the attention of a few unpleasant individuals should he train outside the city.

Moreover, if those individuals decide to f*ck with him, it might be a bit dangerous, considering that there are emerald-tier adventurers in Balkrow City, albeit not many.

\'Well, let\'s check the prices first…\'

Walking for around twenty minutes, Shye arrived at a training facility called "The Ranged", a training facility specifically made for archers, mages, and priests, to practice their skills

The training facility was vast, however, it was a bit run down.

It was exactly what Shye was looking for though as he didn\'t want to pay extra for mere aesthetics.

Entering through the worn-down wooden front door, Shye was surprised.

He didn\'t expect the place to be famous, especially since it looked like the facility had been hit by a poopstorm.

There were at least hundreds of adventurers, either alone or in groups of two training inside different rooms with different functions.

Unbeknownst to him, the facility was actually quite new.

It was just that the clever owner used a worn-down design to attract potential customers.

Naturally, the rates of the facility were quite cheap compared to others while ultimately providing the same experience, making it a popular choice among ranged adventurers.

\'Oh? 50 silver coins per hour? What a reasonable price!\' Shye inwardly exclaimed.

If the rates were this cheap then he could train all day for a week without worrying about annoying bastards!

Shye enthusiastically walked towards the counter where he was greeted by yet another beautiful staff member.

The darned store owner seems to really know what he\'s doing.

"Hello, young sir. Would you like to rent a training room?"

"Hello, yes. I would like to rent a mage training room please."

"I see, for mages, we still have four regular training rooms and one premium training room remaining. The rate for the regular room is 50 silver coins per hour while it is 70 silver coins per hour for premium training rooms."

"Hmm…What\'s the difference between a regular and a premium training room?"

"The magic absorption target crystal has a significantly larger capacity in the premium training room, allowing for the practice of skills up to the unique tier. In contrast, the regular training room only accommodates skills up to the rare tier."

"Oh, I see. I would like to rent one regular training room please, for seven hours."

After a short conversation, Shye took out 350 silver coins and handed them over to the staff member in charge, heading towards the assigned training room shortly after.

\'Oh? Even the regular training rooms are this spacious?\' Shye mused, placing his sack bag at the side of the room before taking out his newly bought gold-tier elemental staff with ice bonuses.

He then took out a bottle of high-grade spell mastery tonic which was azure in color. Doesn\'t really look appetizing but Shye didn\'t care and simply drank the whole bottle.

\'Ooh, tastes like melted candy.\' Shye mused, focusing his attention on the large crystal in front of him. \'For starters, let\'s level up the four basic offensive spells…\'

Aiming his staff towards the crystal, Shye fired a skill.

\'Wind slicer!\'

Four small gusts of wind suddenly formed in front of Shye, turning into small crescent moon-shaped projectiles with sharp edges before shooting toward the target crystal.

*FWOOSH* *FWOOSH* *FWOOSH* *FWOOSH*

Shockingly, after the four slicers hit the crystal, it vanished, seemingly absorbed by the peculiar target.

Then, a few milliseconds later, a numeric value appeared on top of the crystal.

"69"

\'Oh? 69 huh? What\'s 69 though?\'

He didn\'t know how potent 69 was, but for now, he\'ll use it as a baseline.

\'Hmm…How do I know how much mana it drained out of me though?\' Shye wondered, opening his status window to see if there were some kind of mana values or something.

Unfortunately, there were none.

\'Haah…Well, I\'ll probably feel it if I\'m at my limit…for now, I shall keep firing spells.\'

His skill, [Wind Slicer Lv.1] didn\'t really tire him out that much so he reckoned that the mana consumption was probably minuscule.

With the considerable increase in his intelligence and wisdom stats from the bonuses provided by his new gold-tier set, Shye\'s mana pool likely expanded as a result.

Feeling a bit more confident, Shye fired the three other basic offensive spells in succession.

"74" "98" "82"

[Earthen Spikes Lv.1] scored 74, [Ice Rain Lv.1] scored 98, and [Blaze Missiles Lv.1] scored 82.

\'Hmm…so 69 is weak…\' Shye pondered. \'Well then, let\'s check each skill\'s cooldown…\'

After going through all of his skills including his existing ones for around half an hour, Shye found out that the cooldown of each common mage skill was lower than what he expected.

"Hmm, so the basic offensive skills have a cooldown range of 3 to 10 seconds huh?" Shye muttered to himself, realizing that he had been underestimating mages in the past. "Well, good thing I know now. It\'s not like I can spam the skills without thinking about proper usage as everyone\'s mana is limited…"

Contented about his findings regarding the limits of his skills\' damage and cooldown, Shye proceeded to level each one of them up, casting the four new offensive spells in rotation to level them up.

The entire time, Shye was counting.

He wanted to know how many times he should cast a skill before it levels up.

Regrettably, following twelve repetitions of each of the new basic spells, Shye suddenly experienced dizziness, with a subtle throbbing pain in his head.

\'Ahh…crap…is this the limit of my current mana pool?\'
