Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 2448: Arrival of the First Rex Mundi

"Lin Xiaodao must\'ve used some illegal trick! He wouldn’t have defeated the tenth rex mundi otherwise!"

"The tenth rex mundi is a pillar of the Infinitum Bodhimanda! The agreement wasn\'t a fight to the death! That crook didn\'t keep his word!"

"It\'s over for the Swordgod Lin Clan. We ebons won’t be pacified until they\'re gone! We have to send our troops to make sure that Lin Xiao and the rest are dead and humiliated!"

"Their entire clan will have to die along with them!"

The raging astral gods within those divine astralships applied a lot of pressure on the few remaining commanders. If they didn\'t make their enemies pay, they would have a hard time swallowing the ebons’ rage.

"At the very least, we have to make sure that the eighty thousand brothers and sisters we lost are avenged!"

"The Infinitum Duel is over, so let\'s continue the attack."

They were actually worried that the thirteen ships would cease attacking after Chi Hun\'s death. During that crucial time, the arrival of the Mundus Enforcers that came with Yishker Sayedi and Yushan Taifeng gave them a really bad feeling.

The two divine astralships that’d just arrived on the scene had more than three hundred thousand astral gods, all of them clad in monochrome battle armor and lined up in neat ranks. The insignia of the Infinitum Bodhimanda marked the soldiers\' chests, proving their standing with the Mundus Enforcers.

The Mundus Enforcers and the Distant Star Patrol answered directly to the Infinitum Bodhimanda, which was controlled by the first rex mundi, and was composed of members recruited from all corners of the Infinitum Mundus. There were even many ebons in their ranks. The Mundus Enforcers used to be the private army of the ebons, but ever since Yi Daiyan had taken the throne as the first rex mundi, the number of ebons in their ranks had considerably dropped.

Apart from that, Yi Daiyan gave the members in their ranks that didn\'t come from any of the thirteen Infinitum Regal Clans a chance to show their talents and improve their standing, so they were more loyal than the rest. Though, rather than them being loyal to Yi Daiyan herself, they were loyal to the Infinitum Bodhimanda and its laws. The sense of belonging they felt to the Infinitum Bodhimanda was even stronger than that of members of the Infinitum Regal Clans. The cause they fought for provided them with cultivation opportunities, survival, and most importantly, peace. Otherwise, many lower-tier clans wouldn\'t be able to grow and pass on their legacies. As such, they were even more adamant about the Infinitum Bodhimanda as an institution and wouldn\'t allow anyone to break their rules. When they arrived, they coldly observed the Rex Mundi Alliance\'s each and every move.

"Heed the decree of the rex mundi!" Yushan Taifeng loudly announced. While those who ranked second to tenth on the reges mundi ranking were also called rex mundi, there was only one true, official rex mundi in the entire mundus. Hearing that, all the members of the Dongshen Clan within their formation knelt with tears of joy. They had sure waited long enough for the enforcers to show up!

"Long live the almighty rex mundi!" Dongshen Yang passionately cheered, echoed by his clan and further inflating Yi Daiyan\'s authority. She was their sole saving grace.

"Hmm?" Yushan Taifeng turned to look at the thirteen divine astralships. Some six hundred thousand astral gods lazily emerged from them and knelt with looks of dissatisfaction. They were unhappy, but there was nothing they could do before the golden scroll that Yushan Taifeng held.

"Hail!"

Once everyone knelt, Yushan Taifeng unrolled the golden scroll, causing blinding golden light to pour out from it. Then a white projection formed, depicting long, white hair. While Yi Daiyan herself hadn\'t made an appearance, her projection alone was enough to cause many to feel pressure. Even the dissatisfied astral gods had no choice but to lower their heads and grit their teeth.

Mount Taia fell completely silent from the pressure.

While Yi Daiyan seldom showed herself, nobody had forgotten the sight of her defeating the ruler of the ebons fifty years prior. It was a fight that still shook the hearts of many in the present. Her beautiful, yet gentle voice broke the silence and shook the heavens and earth.

"According to the investigation by the Mundus Enforcers, ether-class divine astralships have been used in a conflict for resources at Mount Taia. The so-called Rex Mundi Alliance has attacked a defensive formation belonging to the Infinitum Mundus. That action is a breach of the Code of Infinitum of the highest degree. Proof and witnesses have been adequately assembled, and it falls to my office to come to a judgment that will reinforce the norms and regulations of the Infinitum Bodhimanda in a manner pleasing to all of our members." The voice of the white-haired projection was clear, but cold. Though it was pleasing to listen to, it still carried an undeniable air of authority.

"Rex Mundi!" Qi Xuantian, the leader of the Qi Clan of the ebons, called out. The purple-haired man quickly explained, "The situation isn\'t that simple! This was a fair competition for resources, but after our side obtained the ancient relic, Dongshen Zhuojun came out and massacred our kind to take the relic, along with hundreds of people from the Central Shuntian Clan, Eastpole Skyshaker Family, and Fiend Qiangnan Clan! That’s also a breach of the Code of Infinitum!

“With that in mind, we dispatched Lord Chi Hun to take back the ancient relic from Dongshen Zhoujun, yet the Dongshen Clan protected that criminal within their defensive formation! We had no choice but to use divine astralships to break their formation and capture the criminal! Yet they used their defensive formation to kill another eighty thousand ebons! All those innocent souls! According to the Code of Infinitum, everyone in the Dongshen Clan is culpable for that crime. That’s the reason the Rex Mundi Alliance was formed—"

Qi Xuantian played the victim card, complete with tears and a voice filled with grief, but before he could finish, the white-haired projection coldly scoffed. Though the voice had been transmitted from far, far away, Qi Xuantian felt a chill down his heart. He hadn\'t been able to finish his long-rehearsed speech and struggled to look up. Through the white mist above peered two colorful eyes, seemingly capable of seeing through his inner mind.

The empty voice rang out once more.
